Edinburgh – Glasgow Improvement Programme
Environmental Management Plans
Protected Species Licensing
Engineering works are ongoing to electrify the railway network between Edinburgh and Glasgow. This has required numerous trackside engineering works, the demolition and construction of structures and road re-alignments, which could impact on local communities and wildlife. IKM has been appointed on a number of different contracts to provide environmental and ecological support to the project.
The works have involved ecological baseline surveys, protected species licence applications, the production of Species Protection Plans, the provision of ECoWs and mitigation design to ensure that the impacts of the work on local ecology are limited and that there are no delays to the programme. IKM has produced and managed numerous Environmental Management Plans, Noise Impact Assessments, Noise and Vibration Management Plans, pre-construction vibration assessments, compliance noise monitoring and pre-/post construction dilapidation surveys.
