IKM’s ecology team aim to find pragmatic solutions to our Client’s complex issues, whilst ensuring compliance with legislation, best practice and identifying opportunities for ecological benefit. Our approach can add value to projects and local ecosystems whilst contributing to our Client’s goals in relation to community benefits and sustainability.
We offer a range of services from baseline ecological surveys to mitigation design/implementation, Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA), protected species licence applications and Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW). Our Ecologists have a diverse background in ecology and we have surveyors who are licensed to carry out bat, great crested newt and schedule 1 bird surveys. We also have a team of licensed bat workers who are trained in aerial inspection which can save time and budget when assessing trees for bat roost potential.
One of our key roles is in providing ECoWs and supporting our clients on-site construction teams in the delivery of construction and infrastructure projects. Our ecologists are also trained in environmental surveys such as: noise & vibration and water quality monitoring to ensure that we can deliver a cost-effective service. We maintain excellent working relationships with the Regulators and prepare robust Species Protection Plans and protected species licence applications for our clients.

- Phase 1 Habitat Surveys
